RENOVATION OF PLASTERED WALLS IN GATINEAU AND OTTAWA
Concrete block walls and foundations can lose their appeal over the years due to discolouration and flaking. Fortunately, there's a material that smooths the surface and covers imperfections: stucco. This thin layer of mortar or plaster is applied to a building to renovate surfaces, coat and repair masonry, while also helping to protect it from moisture.
Stucco can be applied to the side of the house, in the basement, and on any other wall or concrete block. For all your stucco work in Gatineau, Ottawa, or the surrounding areas, contact Fissure Extrême & Fondation.

PLASTER, STEP BY STEP
The paint, tar, and glue are removed with a hand grinder before application. Next, small vertical grooves are created in the wall, about a foot apart, to allow the plaster cement to adhere properly. All debris must be removed from the wall, including cobwebs and insect nests.
Stucco is composed of sand, Portland cement, and other aggregates. A pointed trowel is needed to pick up the stucco mixture and spread it evenly, in one or two 1/8-inch layers depending on the surface. Once the application process is complete, the wall must be allowed to dry for at least 24 to 48 hours before applying a coat of paint.
